Maine Is Pretty, Part II

I’ve just returned from the second installment of my July adventures in Maine. This trip featured a visit to Orono, home of the University of Maine Black Bears, to see my best buddy from Wake, Kurt, above, and his new fiancee, Kristin, also above. Before last weekend, I had only met Kristin a couple of times, so it was good to spend some time with her and get to know her a bit better. After days of careful analysis, she gets two thumbs up. The marriage receives my blessing.
Highlights of the trip include eating at the Sea Dog Brewing Co. in Bangor, seeing The Dark Knight (including a creepy appearance by some weirdo kid dressed up like The Joker), hiking to the top of some small mountain and almost getting rained on, eating little pizzas from the original Pat’s Pizza, and inventing a new drinking game involving shot glasses, quarters and a disgusting bottle of Irish whiskey. In all, a successful trip.
I spent the next couple of days down in Ogunquit visiting my parents again. Besides a trip to Kittery for some new clothes and a new watch, we pretty much spent our time eating and drinking and reading. No complaints here.
