Today I had dim sum at my favorite Chinese restaurant on the planet, Mary Chung. It’s right between Harvard and MIT in Cambridge, so it’s usually packed with Chinese college kids: always a good sign. My parents have been going there since the ’70s, and the owner, Mary, has watched me grow up and still recognizes me every time I walk through the door.

If you’re ever up that way, stop in and try the Suan La Chow Show and thank me later. Avoid any familiar “Chinese” dishes you’d find from a U.S. takeout place. Here’s the dim sum menu.
